Infant Nutrition Education is an online accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program that aims to support primary care physicians and healthcare professionals (HCPs) in the best practice management of early life nutrition. Participants will consolidate their understanding of the importance of the first 1000 days of life, functional gastrointestinal disorders, cows’ milk allergy and preterm infants.
Module 1: First 1000 days of life
In this module you will gain a practical foundation of knowledge on the importance of nutrition in the first 1000 days of life, from conception to toddlerhood, and related considerations for the management of infant nutrition in UK primary care, with particular relevance for GPs, health visitors and other community practitioners. This module provides a review of:
- Nutrition during pregnancy
- The importance of breastmilk and supporting breastfeeding
- Infant growth and common feeding complications
- Starting solids
